Carols increase Magic Evasion against specific elements. These spells do stack, so stacking Fire Carol and Fire Carol II would give the best protection against Fire that Bard can offer.

Tier 1 and Tier 2 Carols work in a slightly different way, with Tier 1 Carols being purely resistance (starting at 80) and Tier 2 Carols being both resistance and a chance to annul the related element (starting at 100 resistance).
- This resistance also works against status ailments of the correct element of the active Carol.

Tier I Spells

Every Carol +1 given through equipment increases song duration and potency by 10%.
- The maximum Carol bonus available from equipment is +9.
Soul Voice doubles the potency of this type of song.
Marcato's effect on this type of song increases potency by 50%.
- In the case of Fire Carol: This results in a bonus of 228 Resistance with +9 in Equipment Modifiers.

Tier II Spells

Every Carol +1 given through equipment increases song duration and the Nullification chance by 1%.
- The maximum Carol bonus available from equipment is +9.
Soul Voice doubles the Nullification chance of this type of song.
- Nullification chance percentage cap is believed to be 40%.
Marcato's effect on this type of song increases the Nullification chance by 50%.
- Nullification chance percentage cap is believed to be 40%.
