The fundamental currency of the Final Fantasy XI economy is Gil, but there are several other currencies that have value and are commonly exchanged as well. Unlike gil, these currencies manifest themselves as tradeable items and are often associated with a particular event. Some can be sold through the Auction House, but many of them drive the Bazaar subsection of the economy.
